  • Day 12

    Psalm 40

"I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies."

Every time I'm faced with decisions, difficulties or anything for that matter....I try to remind myself to give every thing to God and let him establish my goings and then just simply TRUST.  Yep...I love this verse!

  • Well I needed to read that and be reminded. Thanks

The cool is thing is that I'd have to pick that as one of my favourites. It's one of those foundational verses in my life that God constantly brings me back to. And here it is again...

One of my other favourites is Isaiah 43:18-19

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.

God is in the business of the new. Not only do we set aside the bad things in our lives, but we even set aside the good; the things that God has worked in our lives before. He is always in the business of the new...

  • That is seriously true! I love that. all you need to do is trust. Thanks for that

  • Unfortunately you are very right.  When most Americans, Christians especially, refer to or pray for peace in the Middle East, what they really mean is just for Israel and Israel's benefit.  We seem to see every other country in the region as a mortal enemy and that translates into peopl acting and forming opinions based purely on blind prejudice and hate.  It's wrong.  It makes me happy to see diplomats here emphasizing the tragedy of civilian life lost on both sides (not that ther is tragedy to emphasize, but that they recognize it) and sad when I watch the news and see those commercials you talked about in between.  I was sitting at home the other night muttering at the TV "What about the Lebanese?"  As instruments of God's love we should be concerned for all people who suffer no matter what their citizenship, skin-color, political affiliation or religious belief.  People who only focus on American lives lost, or Americans trapped in the crisis area make me angry too, but that's a whole nother issue.  Thanks for ranting.
