  • "If a person hasn't discovered something that they will die for, then they have yet to begin to live"

-My variation of something Martin Luthar King Jr said-steve

I believe to date that less than two dozen people have died from stingrays.  The last time in Australia that someone died from a stingray was in 1945.

The manner in which you live your life is up to you.  The "quality" of your life is yet to be determined...

The only thing for sure is that you will die.

Are you who you wanna be?

  • Hoorah for September!

    September is my favorite month!

Month of the start of Fall...

Month of the start of football season...

It used to be back to school month too...that was a long time ago however...

The weather outside is ususally amazing...

    The trees change colors...

I just like this month...yep yep

    What is your favorite month?

"Man is the only animal that can remain on friendly terms with the victim he intends to eat until he eats them."

                        Samuel Butler   1835-1902

    I found that quote amusing...

and here's a picture to illustrate that quote.....(oh yeah...forget the caption in the pic)

  • MMMMMMmmmmm.....roast beef!

"Skepticism, like chastity, should not be relinquished too readily."

                     George Santayana 1863-1952

You would think that in a 14 hour work day that there would be a lot to say...things that happened....interesting stories....hmm...not so much!  I made salads... Then I came to evangel....  I've been sitting here....

So...I'll tell you about what I am doing.  I am listening to some big band love music cd (no vocals) chilling and about to eat a roast beef sandwhich.  There is something wonderful about roast beef on bread with mayo.  Yep...life is tranquil at the moment.

Here are two things you should know.....

Cleopatra committed suicide on this day in 30 BC and I'm generally a pretty big skeptic!

  • One has the choice of either the candle....or the mirror....there are no other options

Today my new room mate moved in.  He's actually moving in right now while I am here at work.  Brennan Anderson...MK from northern asia.  It'll be fun having him around for the next year or more!  Might get him to go hiking occasionally or something of that nature...

On this same day in 1990 Saddam Hussein declared America can't beat Iraq.

    famous last words...

Also...this is the day that is used to remember the martydom of John the Baptist in 29 AD.

"There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it."

                                    Edith Wharton 1862-1937

  • THIS DAY SHALL FOREVER BE REMEMBERED AS......

When people say that....do they realize how long "forever" actually is?  Do they realize that chances are bigger things than their little existence will probably happen which the world will revolve around!  I can honestly only think of one person that affects the vast majority of people on the planet every single day.  And will continue to do so most likely for the rest of time here on Earth.

    Jesus Christ

The amazing thing about it...is that it is such a simple thing too.  The date...yes I said the date.  Today is..blah blah blah.  Because the date is based on the BC and AD system...so every single day is marked as being such and such time since the date (hypthesized) of His birth.

Well...today is "Women's Equality Day" in the US.  Since 1973

Well, in my little life I had a dog interview today with an Airedale Terrier.  The dog, "Boss,"  was a little pushy and dominating towards Titus.  Titus is such a big baby that he doesn't have a clue about what it means to be a dog yet.  So...not sure if it will work out.  But both the owner and I want to try and help it work so we are going to get the dogs together several more times before we make a decision.  Aside from that...not much.  Just work....

Quotes are amazing are they not?  Inspiration and everything...So, I've decided to start looking up famous quotes and thought I would start with this one:

"The surest way to make a monkey of a man is to quote him."

                               Robert Benchley 1889-1945

  • MY TOMBSTONE...

So...I was reading another person's xanga entry about a bunch of random stuff and I was struck with this thought.  Death....

But more importantly...what do I want on my tombstone?

"WISH YOU WERE HERE" in big bold letters in the middle on the front with an arrow pointing to where the coffin lies.  Also I want a little plaque that is at an angle and in small print so that the only way to read it is to be standing on the grave bending over or kneeling to get a good view of it...on that plaque I want it to say "GET OFF!!!"

These are just two of several little decorations I would like on my tombstone.  I figure it's not like I'll be getting to enjoy my gravesite so might as well try and help the random passerbys enjoy it.

So yeah...that's my entry for the day...

  • DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME

DO NOT TRY THIS ANYWHERE ELSE EITHER FOR THAT MATTER.....

So...a certain friend of mine is an interesting fellow to say the least.  The guy puts jabanero sauce on his food like most people put milk on their cereal.  Oh...he's not immune to it....he just enjoys it in his own strange way.  He'll be standing there in shorts in a temperature that would seem snow is falling from the ceilling (heat went out once where he was living before...long story....then again every story I tell is long) and sweat is pouring off of him cause he's eating so much hot sauce.  Ok...so yeah that gives you an idea of this guy....

Well...this evening he decided to see what pepper spray (police crime deterrent tool) would be like and coated a taco with it.  Then proceeded to eat the taco.  Then proceeded to lick his fingers.  Then proceeded to do nothing because the stuff didn't do anything to him.  Yeah...the rest of us are still waiting for the after effects...but all we've gotten out of him is "It's just a bit milder than jabanero sauce."

This is the stuff that drops people to the ground screaming and crying when sprayed in their eyes.  You may say "eyes and stomach two very different things."  Still...come on now....pepper spray was not made as a food item...I am not going to try it!  I will try most things once...but I know my limits!

Again I say...DO NOT TRY THIS....the pepper spray was examined first to analyze the contents and compared to a similar action taken by an individual on the discovery channel.  Some sprays are toxic!
