  • Ok...so for those of you know me...you know that I like animals.  Hence...I was a biology major in college.  I have a dog (have had several over the years), I have a 6 ft red tail boa, I have had fish, turtles, hampsters, birds and other pets as well growing up.  So...the following story was a bit shocking for me.  (Put this in perspective....I'm the idiot that brakes and puts his flashers on and gets out of the car in the middle of the road to move turtles to saftey).

So...I'm driving my merry little route to work this afternoon when I see movement off to the side of the road.  Well...isn't that nice...two squirrels chasing each other around some body's front yard.  Perhaps one male squirrel (Alvin) showing Simon who's the boss and telling him to go find nuts elsewhere.  Or perhaps Alvin found an object of beauty and was giving chase.....

Well...needless to say...the chasee dashed across the road at the exact time an oncoming car happened to be right there.  The front tire squashed the poor little sucker about 8 feet away from my car....tear!

    Welp...that's life!  On to work...

Ok...so perhaps I wasn't too distraught over the loss of life but it was an unfortunate drama that unplayed right before my eyes....just thought I would share!

  • So yeah...today was my day off from one job...however I had to get up to come in for a meeting that lasted 3 hours for my evening job anyways.  So...one of my only 3 half days of freedom and had a 3 hour meeting to pretty much just mess it up by waking me up way too early so then I slept the rest of the day after the meeting till I had to come back to work anyways.....

So much for getting anything productive done today....I guess that's how it goes sometimes!!  Now I'm just listening to Evanescence and browsing xanga....extremely productive...

  • Get involved!  Why so often do we as the laity (pew warmers) expect and assume that the pastoral staff and those eager beaver volunteers can do everything?  Jobs in the church are not an issue of accomplishing some task to put an "x" in complete column.  The church's mission is never done....and part of the church's mission is to provide opportunities for the ENTIRE body of Christ to get involved.  So if you are involved...challenge your friends to get involved as well.  If you aren't involved...do something.  At this one church here in Springfield I know of a lady who is unemployed, has all kinds of psychiatric issues, recouperating drug addict and who knows what else she has dealt with in her life....yet she volunteers her time to fold the bulletins and put the inserts inside of them.  Just think if every person that walked through the doors did just one thing!!!!

QOTD:  Regardless of what you may or may not be doing:  What is one task you wouldn't mind doing for the body of Christ (even if your church doesn't have that ministry)?

  • Day 12

    Psalm 40

"I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies."

Every time I'm faced with decisions, difficulties or anything for that matter....I try to remind myself to give every thing to God and let him establish my goings and then just simply TRUST.  Yep...I love this verse!

  • DAY 8 (what?!? 6 & 7 ?!?)

Day 8 (so obviously the past two days were my weekend from Security which is the place where I find it nescesary to blab on about useless things on Xanga...so since I wasn't here...I didn't blab....and it is now Day 8.)

The past few days have been pretty awesome for me.  Last week I wrote down in my journal (yes I keep a journal on an occasional basis...no good blackmail in there...sorry) about 3 things I was concerned about.  So, I was like "God...here's my heart...answer these desires and take care of them according to your will.  Amen."  Well...not to go in to a lot of detail but one of those things was finances.  Welp...today I started a second job (didn't even have to interview cause it's a place I worked out before) that someone quit yesterday so they needed someone right away!  It will be just the right amount of hours and pay to help me take care of everything that needs taking care of.  Then an MK friend of mine called today and asked if I still had an empty room available for the school year...which indeed I do.  We had talked about it a long time ago but I lost his phone number....so anyways.  It's just interesting how God sees everything and weaves it all together in His own timing according to His will.

Here's a picture of my desktop image (from WA) that I like looking at!

QOTD:  If you could go anywhere in the world for one week right now (vacation), where would it be and why?

(My Previous Answer:  Nightcrawler...I love his abilities and his appearence)

  • DAY 5 of the Most Useless Blog Ever

Today was a much needed day of escape for me...went to the lake with some friends.  Layed out...swam....attempted to drown people....gave up...came to work....The lake is like my new favorite place...it's not the ocean but heck, it's the closest thing we got to it around in the ozarks.  They even have a few rather small dull fish swimming around...

QUESTION OF THE DAY:  (So some other guy used to do this and I really like it so I'm stealing the idea)

X Men Theme:  What mutant would you be or what mutant power would you have?
