  • Well, this past week has been week 2 of PFO/Bootcamp.  All of the kids survived...no raging fires that burned down camp or anything of that nature.  I don't think any of the kids had any tragic latrine experiences this year.  It's one of those painful kind of laughs...you know when you stub your toe and you laugh at yourself and everyone else laughs too....yeah...but in the end...a week long of surviving in the woods through the good and the bad makes everyone stronger.  As a couple kids put it this year...'if we can make it through Mu Kappa...we can make it anywhere.'  It was actually a pretty uneventful week.  The weather was mild with some low temps and no rain storms.
Well there is one story about a certain individual with a "splinter" in a very bad location...but that's need to know only.

    So...in a nut shell..nothing too exciting.

  • Week One:

From all the wierd smells, sights and sounds of bazaar night to the long lines of Mu Kappa Consulate day....week one is now finished.  All the kids seem to be having a blast.  The cave was muddy dark and fun as always.  One kid even made it all the way through the cave with a cast on his arm!  So many good times....

This year finds Bootcamp with all new staff.  Joel and Leah are coordinating and I'm trying to keep up to pace with all their logistical needs...but other than the three of us...the rest are new to bootcamp.  However, they have great attitudes and are doing an amazing job with the kids.  Ha...then again...we havn't gone camping yet.  That always tends to stretch people in ways they've never thought possible.

Camping at Mu Kappa is the seond most intense experience I've ever had...after Army Basic Training....ofcourse that's way more intense...but still the camping in the middle of nowhere with practically nothing in the form of comfort....yeah..can be a bit intense.  So anyways....PFO is going well so far....catch you next week!

TNT and Dynamite are not the same thing.  Dynamite is a nitroglycerin mixture which is a chain compound and TNT is Trinitrotoluene which is a "cyclic" compound.  For whatever reason I just always thought the two were the same thing...

    Good to know I guess...

P.S.  Holding an infant lowers testosterone levels in men....thank you animal planet

  • Saw X Men 3 yesterday....I thought it was awesome!

    u?

  • So....I was just watching the TV show HOUSE.  Some show about a doctor...and I was eating subway (Parmesean Chicken if you must know).  And then some patient's eye just started swelling until it popped out of the eye socket....mmm...more marinara please!

So...anyways...back from Jamaica now for close to a week....

I arrived back from Jamaica to learn one of my room mates took out my small brown dog outside and lost hold of her before chaining her up and she jumped the fence and away she was gone....

So...I get back...go to the humane soceity and find out someone found her and go and get her...

Sunday I get up...let the dogs out....go out to do something...come back...let the dogs in....lay down for 20 mins before I have to get up and go to church...in that 20 mins span of time...one of my other room mates heard the small dog bark and let them out....

I hear a noise...get up...go look in the room next to mine where the dogs are..and lo and behold they are gone.  Other room mate let them out...problem is he didn't put the brown dog on the chain like she needs to be hooked up...and she has escaped once again...

These pictures are how I currently feel...

  • So...today started with me finding my window on my jeep down after have a night full of rain...

got let off late from one job and was a little late to the next....

the shift change for one of my days off this week wasn't approved...

    so...long day...going in a new direction...going to Jamaica...see ya later

(p.s. all the approved minor potential disasters worked themselves out by the end of the day)

    Be back next week...ciao

  • memory lane....

there is a book in the security office with pictures of all (it seems like all) of the student employees that have worked here since....well since the late 90's.  Took a few minutes to browse through those...kinda neat to see pictures of a bunch of people I've known.  Some friends...and some not.  Some really neat people...and some essentially nut cases.  Yeah...and then there is an old picture of me too....

Sometimes it's good to be reminded of where you once were so you can gain a little bit of clarity on where you are and where you're going.  Anyways...yeah...I enjoyed.

    Me being reflective....

Sometimes in life...there comes a point to go in a new direction...

  • moving....

Well helped one lady move last week...after some of us left...she gave one of the guys a bunch of money for all of us.  40 bucks for less than 2 hours work....very nice and unexpected!

Then yesterday helped Joel and Leah move a bunch of Joel's stuff and some furniture into the house Leah and him will be living in once they get married.  That was fun....and tomorrow we're throwing Joel a wild bachelor's party...

ok..probably not exactly wild...or a party...but we are going to go hang out for a few hours

    and now...for some taco bell....

    good bye

  • I got nothing new...

Yesterday was so slow at my delivery job I went home after an 1 1/2 hours with a buck....

Today however was much better with me going home after 3 1/2 hours with 35 bucks...

Some days the sun shines...and sometimes it rains....

And a clever picture for those of you aspiring to be half as twisted as I am...

And one last bit of random information for all of you:  Picking your nose and eating it actually bolsters your immunity.  When the mucus hits the stomach the mucus starts to break down releasing antibodies and other little goodies from the nose inside the digestive track.....

So for all you aspiring parents....encourage your kids!  Everybody's doing it!!!
